This is a unique and insightful course which integrates yoga, thai bodywork and physical therapy. Our collaborative approach addresses structural problems created by movement behaviors and habits. This course will teach you how to support the mind-body connection through adjustments, verbal cues, and exercises.
Please note that this course is designed for 200-RYT graduates. Meaning it is only for students that have successfully graduated from a 200 hour yoga training and interested in a serious and in depth study of the science of Yoga and the anatomy of the human body. There will be no days off.

Paula Tursi is the Founder and Director of Reflections Yoga and the internationally renowned Reflections Yoga Teacher Training Program. She has been working with alternative healing practices in New York City and internationally for over twenty years. Paula developed Reflections Yoga as a way to integrate what she found most inspiring in other practices with her own personal truth. She began her training at Integral Yoga, where she studied Hatha and restorative Yoga. She went on to work with esteemed teachers such as John Friend, Rodney Yee and Angela Farmer. She has also worked extensively with Leslie Kaminoff and Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen in the art of yoga, breath work, anatomy, and movement awareness practices. She is certified at the 500-hour level with the Yoga Alliance and is an affiliated Anusara teacher. Most of her current studies are in Body-Mind Centering® with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen.
Paula’s work focuses on the alignment of mind and body, understanding that we move not only from our muscles and joints, but also from the support of our inner body. Movement or asana can start from the inner or outer body, however, movement initiated from the inner body can be an expression of the organs bringing awareness and health to the deeper systems of the body. Her teaching and insights are born of the ongoing study of anatomy and kinesiology with master teachers such as Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Irene Dowd, Tom Myers, and Gil Hedley for anatomical dissection.
Paula holds a Masters degree in Psychology from Columbia University and a Masters degree in Education from Hunter College. She did her clinical post-graduate training at the Milton H. Erickson Society for Psychotherapy and Hypnosis. Paula conducts biannual Teacher’s Trainings in New York City and Latin America, teaches workshops nationwide and in Europe. She teaches on going classes, holds corporate workshops and offers individual instruction in breath awareness, partner yoga and yoga for body ailments.
Steve Horney graduated from Quinnipiac University ‘s top-ranked accelerated Masters program and began his clinical practice in 2005. Since then, he’s prided himself on combining extensive physical therapy knowledge with his own experiences as an athlete to effectively treat his patients.
From the beginning, Steve has worked with a broad spectrum of patients ranging from weekend marathon runners to professional athletes and always keeps the focus on searching for the cause of the dysfunction instead of simply trying to reduce symptoms. Steve has recently been seen on CBS Newspath, is a leading contributor to world-wide physical therapy information hub theptproject.com, and served as an editor for “Running Without Injury,” a guide to avoiding injuries and increasing performance in the running population.
Steve specializes in the assessment and treatment of athletes with the ultimate goal of helping them become pain free and less susceptible to injury in the future. He works with each of his patients to help them understand the root cause of their pain, which in the spine often results from improper positioning while at rest – such as stressful body ergonomics at a workstation or poor sleeping postures and improper muscle imbalance in the extremities. Working with patients one-on-one, Steve provides personalized techniques to correct these problems, helping them to live beyond their injury.
In his professional life he has worked with some of the top physical therapists in the city and managed one of New York ‘s premiere physical therapy clinics. He has also completed the course work for a 2 year matriculating program from the University of St. Augustine, studying Manual Therapy with world-renowned Stanley Paris PT PhD. These courses in manual therapy, or the art of using your hands for healing, have given Steve a skill set and algorithm to solve any musculoskeletal problem in the body.
T’ai Jamar Hanna
T’ai Jamar recently returned from studying in Laos and Thailand with the Thai Massage Circus and Nerve Touch School. She is a Reflections 200-hour Alignment & Flow teacher (ERYT) and completing advanced hours in yogic and spiritual development with Founder and Director, Paula Tursi. She works privately with injury-prevention and pain management as well as leads workshops and trainings in Thai Technique. She continues to passionately study the ancient form of healing touch. T’ai Jamar is a 200+ hour certified Thai Yoga Massage Therapist and a 200+hour certified Reflections Yoga teacher. To compliment the ancient art form of Thai Massage, T’ai incorporates Nerve Touch, Chi Nei Tsang, Zen Shiatsu, and Body-Tuning.
Whether you want to energize and revitalize your energy or you need deep relaxation and rejuvenation, T’ai Jamar’s healing touch uses dynamic movement, guided breath, mindful meditation, supported stretch and structural alignment to find flexibility and mobility.
In 2011, she participated in an advanced-Thai Massage practitioner training, The Thai Massage Circus in Laos, completing 150-hours of integrated healing touch therapies. She has studied with David Lutt and Arno Ihermitte of Osteo Thai College, Takis Oikonomou of the Sunshine House and Jack Chaya of Nerve Touch. In 2006, she earned her 200-hour yoga teaching certification with Paula Tursi, founder and creator of Reflections Yoga. Subsequently, T’ai completed a 60-hour Thai Yoga Massage certification from Spyne-DK, 2006 and 25-hour prenatal yoga training with Urban Yoga at Kripalu, 2007. Always inspired by Dr Fiquet Duckworth, her mother, healer and Doctor of Oriental Medicine, T’ai incorporates her experience in collegiate athletics, dance, and physical therapy with her interest in sports medicine.
In 2009, T’ai Jamar Hanna completed a MS Degree in Non Profit Management at Milano, the New School for Management & Urban Policy. T’ai Jamar obtained her BA in Multi Media Arts, College of California, 2000; she holds an AA in Liberal Arts, Women’s Studies, Cabrillo College, 1998.

Yoga class will be a slow flow mindful practice. The focus of the the classes will be on alignment as well as taking a deeper look into the possible cause of misalignment in your practice as well as your daily movements.
