Workshops: There will be two special workshops offered this week. The first is an Inversion Workshop, and the second is a Yoga Cardio Burst Workshop. Both workshops are 60 minutes, and $20 each. Please see more detailed information below.
Guest Yoga Teacher Rony Ghoraishy
Rony fell in love with yoga the first time she stepped foot onto her mat eight years ago. Yoga is the one thing that made her feel stable through all of life’s trails and tribulations. She quickly found her yoga practice flourishing and wanted to follow her passion of teaching. She enrolled in teacher training at Core Power Yoga in California and has been an inspiration to her students ever since. She specializes in teaching Vinyasa Flow and Power Yoga, yet finds a balance with Yin Yoga. Her energy, personality, and motivation to challenge people draws in students of all levels.
Rony Ghoraishy came to Anamaya Resort to attend a Yoga Retreat in November of 2012 to escape her corporate job stress, and overall troubles and imbalance in her life. She calls the retreat the best thing that could have helped heal her soul and restore the balance that was lacking in her life. In turn, she finds it not only appropriate, but also symbolic to return a year later to Anamaya to give back that same healing experience she received from her retreat. She finds teaching to be very rewarding and focuses on guiding students not only physically on their mat, but also mentally off their mat. Theming classes, finding appropriate quotes & music, and being an overall inspirational teacher transpires through her.
For many people the thought of going upside down triggers a response of fear. The road to a perfectly balanced headstand is usually paved with a few painless falls along the way, but inversions don’t have to be panic inducing. During the inversion workshop, Rony will break down postures while ensuring her students safety and FUN!
There are many benefits of inversions like Shoulderstand, Headstand, and Forearm Balance. Not only do they strengthen the arms, legs, back and core abdominal muscles, but they also teach us the principle of “drawing into the mid-line,” which helps strengthen the core and can be really helpful for improving standing postures and alleviating any lower back pain. Inversions also help the flow of oxygenated blood to the brain, sensory organs and the face. Learn to get upside down with Rony and have fun during this workshop! This workshop is 60 min and costs $20.
Yoga Cardio Burst Workshop:
This workshop is designed to give you a total body workout. It is set to energizing music and designed to tone and sculpt every major muscle group in your body! This workshop complements your regular yoga practice while boosting your metabolism and pushing your strength and flexibility to new heights. Strength-training exercises such as squats, lunges and Plyo-bursts are incorporated to build lean muscle mass and burn major calories. When done regularly, students see quick results in their body! You will walk away from this workshop with a good sweat and only wanting more! This workshop is 60 min and costs $20.
