Tell me a little bit about yourself. Did I see that you used to be part of a successful music group? Do you have experience in film-making?
It is with great joy and gratitude that I find myself even telling you some of my story. Eight months ago a massive shift took place in my life in which I finally understood the meaning of the word “surrender,” and with that…

Past Anamaya YTT student talks about her experience becoming a yoga teacher:
It was my second quarter of college that pushed me into the yoga studio. I was high-strung and helplessly exhausted when I was told I needed to find my way onto a yoga mat to reboot. I took the advice and gave myself permission to take an hour break from my overstuffed day to try…

Anamaya was blessed with a phenomenal photographer last week who took hundreds, or possibly thousands of photos. Some of her best photography from the retreat she posted to her amazing blog:
The photos are from the Sacred Soul retreat: Sacred Soul Retreats Photography
Although she took amazing photographs of just about everything my favorites were of the food, so I compiled them…

Anamaya was recently blessed with an amazing guest, Jody Flader, who took photos of anything and everything during her visit to Anamaya. Thanks to her skilled eye as a photographer, she assembled a collection of hundreds of great photos, truly capturing the spirit of her yoga retreat here.
So, I have gone through them one by one, pulled out my favorites, and put them…

When I was at Anamaya in September 2010 I had the great joy of taking my first Zumba class with Anamaya staff Leah Short, and then to participate in Cristiane’s exhuberant classes during the Zumba retreat. We all sat down on the rocks in Montezuma’s town beach and got to the heart of their passion for teaching Zumba.
H: So you’re both Zumba instructors. Why do you love Zumba?
L: I love Zumba because it’s an opportunity for people to not…
