Guest Yoga Teacher Sally Knopp
Sally Knopp’s first experience with yoga was 10 years ago and she quickly knew that she had discovered a life changing practice. Through her own discovery of how yoga can be life changing, Sally is passionate about sharing this experience with others and assisting students in developing their own yoga practice and ultimately the path of Self-realization. She enjoys studying Yogic tradition and philosophy and incorporates much of this tradition into her own practice and teaching. Focusing on exploring the movement of breath and body, students are offered modifications and variations of poses, allowing them to work at their own level while experiencing changes in body and mind.
Sally received her 200 hour teaching certification from Yoga Yoga’s Teacher Training program in Austin, TX 2010, and her 500 hour certification from Italy’s Hari Om School of Teacher Training, in Costa Rica, in 2013. In addition, she has also attended a number of other advanced training courses from various national and international teachers.
Sally has recently begun studies in Ayurveda in order to include the principles of Ayurveda into her teaching. In general, Ayurveda works at purifying and healing the body and mind, while the focus of yoga is our path of Self-realization, which requires a healthy body and mind.
Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences, developed together over 5,000 years ago. Yoga is the science of Self-realization providing the key to spiritual development, and Ayurveda is the science of self-healing, focusing on relieving the diseases of the mind and body, promoting both psychological and physical well-being.
Sally offers public yoga classes, as well as private lessons, workshops and retreats.
