Guest Yoga Teacher Lucy Hamel
Lucy Hamel, originally from Boston, Massachusetts has been immersed in her love of body work for more than thirty years. Diagnosed as a child with a leg discrepancy she was given the option of surgery or a future back brace. Instead she found healing through love of movement and self belief. Naturally, as an adult, Lucy became a personal trainer focusing on alignment. At 24 years old Lucy moved to Greece and continued personal training numerous clients of all ages. Following her study of clients she fully sensed how energy could flow or be stuck in a person. Her belief in energy led her to become a reiki practitioner in her thirties. Not long after that, Lucy became a rebirth breath work practitioner for which she is now well known, and leads retreats and workshops internationally. All of this curiosity and passion for continued growth and joy led Lucy to explore the study of yoga more deeply. She completed her teacher training in Athens Greece seven years ago . In yoga, Lucy embraced even more profoundly the belief in union. Union not only exists with all life forms, it exists between your thoughts, feelings and body.
Through time Lucy has developed a style of Yoga flow that adds in elements of play (which she considers vital for all of us) that guide you into a deeper union awareness. Lucy narrates her classes in a way that makes you embrace your connection to your self. Simply opening a hand differently in an asana can move feelings though the heart or shift a thought. Her classes bring challenges that will make you shake and smile , as well as focus greatly on the core. Music and mood will vary as much as life. Her ability to see each student as a unique individual adds greatly to the growth you will find during your retreat.

Yoga not only offers me a much healthier body, it brings presence and awareness. This place where I can truly sense how thoughts move through me and effect me. I can sense air entering and exiting, sometimes the breath moves on its own without my instruction. Yet I am also able to bring awareness to it and to draw it in, pause and allow it to swirl though me and then slowly let it go.
With such actions the mind begins to slow down too, right? And when the mind slows, awareness begins to expand to a higher level. Your slow down has left this fabulous space for insights of truth.
Sensing the body in movement or in stillness brings into clarity how you have been living, thinking, feeling and even sleeping. Its a comedy of sorts that we don’t always sense how interconnected the thoughts, feelings, breath and body are. Here lies my passion and you will know that pretty quickly once we meet. My narration, music and practice invite you on a ride to listen, pay attention and observe all you are capable of. I think that is the heart of my philosophy for yoga and life. The awareness of the absolute magic of it all and your part in it.
My philosophy grows. My thoughts on how to use yoga continually expand as I practice and have the honor of watching it’s effects on students and myself. The more I practice, the more it follows me everywhere in life. One thing I have remained steady with is to make the practice fun and hold meaning. Like life. The biggest gift of the practice is that moment you step on your mat you are visiting you.
Once Upon a Time Workshop
This is a conscious connected breathing workshop. Everything that has ever happened to you is recorded inside you.
Think of your computer; since it became yours it has been gathering and holding information. Some of the information may have a positive effect on the computer while other information may slow it down or make it run improperly.
In “Once Upon a Time” we look at the hero of your life story. YOU. What information do you consciously and unconsciously carry and how much of it works for your highest?
How you have been using your gifts?
What thoughts or old stories need a new perspective?
In the breathwork, we release in the most natural form of healing there is, prana. Rebirth breath work is conscious connected breathing. It is a supportive tool in healing and changing old thought patterns, cell memory and allow healing and conscious change to manifest.
Conscious connected breathing is for everyone. It is yet another tool through which we can experience a release of physical tension, emotional clearing and mental clarity.
Four day workshop, 2 hrs a day. (optional 2 day)
Price for 2 days is $100, price for 4 days is $200.
